THE LOGO and THE NAME
Deep down in a tiny spec of a South Texas town known as Sandia, lives a Cowboy who rode around on his horse with no name. Royel's love of horses inspired him to build his own place where he hosted roping competitions at his Broken Spur Arena. That was some time ago and long lost are the days of his horseback riding. But the story of the "Wild Rag" name and its brand carries on. So here's how it started. Royel's vision for his brand was certain. He wanted to make sure that our iconic TEXAS appeared as part of his brand thus the ideas started to flow. And once upon a windy afternoon, it happened. Cissy, Royel’s sister-in-law, sketched (well, as best a sketch she could) the “Wild Rag” around the neck of Texas. Cissy reminisced as she sketched away, “Roy has worn a Wild Rag for as long as I can remember.” Royel then gave it its name - Wild Rag Vodka. And the brand was born. As most of us know, the Wild Rag (bandana) has long been worn by Cowboys as neckerchiefs and to cover their faces as protection from the elements while roping or on their long rides on the range. Not so much worn these days out on the range and all but the Wild Rag sure lives on.
